Modern Calligraphy 101 Workshop

Sunday, March 26 @ 10am-1pm

This 3-hour comprehensive workshop Focusing on modern calligraphy, we will cover the fundamentals that is loosely based on traditional copperplate style script where you use a sharp pointed nib rather than the flat nib used in most calligraphic writing. You will also learn important techniques on how to form letters by mastering strokes, write the lower-case alphabet, the proper use of calligraphy tools and equipment, and tips and tricks on how to hone your skills. This is a perfect workshop for those with little, or no, experience in using a pointed pen.

1 straight pen holder
3 different pointed nibs
a calligraphy worksheet
a jar of archival ink
a locally handcrafted inkwell
an instructional manual
a lower case and uppercase exemplar

Brush Lettering 101 Workshop

Create  beautiful contemporary pointed brush script lettering! Learn the basic rules that you can eventually break to find your own style that  translate your positive energy using pen and paper.
In this 3- hour intensive workshop, we will cover the fundamentals of modern script brush lettering.

You will learn the following :

1. Correct way of holding both  felt and  watercolour pen brush, proper posture and body mechanics
2. Using watercolour in brush lettering
3. The most important drills and proper strokes to create letter forms
4. How to write the complete lowercase alphabet*
5. Connect letters the right way
6. Techniques to lay out your piece
This workshop is for beginners , no experience necessary.  

Workshop kit that you will take home includes:
Watercolour Brush pen 
watercolour set 
Felt brush pen
Smooth pad for brush lettering practice
instructional manual and guidelines
Uppercase and Lowercase exemplar

"Simply Shattered” Distress Spray Technique Card Class​

Jessie Hurley has created and awesome “Masculine” card class to showcase her “faux shattered” background technique.  These cards have to be seen in person as the effect is incredible!
If you are looking for a technique to use in your card projects, scrapbook pages or mixed media journals, then this class is a must!  Jessie promises that with this technique, Splatters are a thing of the past!
